Background
Before the acquisition by ZF, the legacy startup autonomous mobility software company, Bestmile offered a service for on-demand mobility providers for designing their services. A group of researchers and transportation experts worked on simulating different scenarios to find the magic constellation that provides the least amount of waiting times for the travelers but yields in the highest margin of profit possible.
After the acquisition the decision was made that the provided service would be abandoned. As a replacement for that our team imagined a future where a self-service tool replaces the service design service. We called it Service Design Tool.
